IT Job Title: Assistant Manager Performance Analytics

Supervise and prepare analysis of MIS reports covering the Equities, Treasury, Alternatives and other pools. To further enhance this analysis by evaluating new tools & software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To manage a team of 3-4 staff, to provide value-added analysis to the standard MIS reporting, including commentary and supplementary reporting. This will involve analyzing data and reports to help explain the results.

2. To research new techniques and industry best practice for developing MIS services.

3. Leading the evaluation of alternative tools and software such as Factset and Lehman Point, to further develop the analysis available from the MIS department

4. To verify and supervise the formation and enhancement of new and ad-hoc reports including the preparation of sample reports for the relevant departments

5. To participate in setting standards for the treatment of investment products and portfolio activity. Liaise with Investment Departments on routine and new investment activity.

6. To ensure timeliness, accuracy and quality in all aspects of analysis and reporting;

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES.

1. Proficiency in Financial analytics including experience in report commentary.

Ability to interpret reports and add meaningful analysis for management

Strong quantitative analysis and numerical skills

Must have a keen interest in keeping up to date with Global market news and have the ability to summarise relevant pieces in report commentary.

2. Advanced knowledge of investment management and performance measurement, index and benchmark construction and attribution methodologies

3. To have advanced knowledge and experience with various investment performance systems, such as SimCorp Dimension, Factset and Bloomberg

4 Good communication skills and ability to create requirements definitions

5. Knowledge of global investment markets and instruments including Equities, Bonds, Derivatives and Overlay structures.

A focus on Equity and Hedge Fund analysis would be a plus

Knowledge of Global Investment performance presentation standards (GIPS).

7. Proficiency in English.



ORGANIZATIONAL POSITIONING

1. This position shall report to Manager-PMA

2. Titles of positions and names of incumbents that shall report to this position. Analysts

3. Other functions and or positions that this position shall interface with as a regular business requirement.

Investment Depts, Evaluation & Follow-up Dept, Internal Audit Department.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

· This job have supervisory responsibilities.

1. Supervise in both their work assignments and performance development (appraisal).

2. Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments of personnel.

· The names of the units, sections, divisions, or departments supervised by this job are :

Analytical Services (Sub-Division of MIS)

1. There are other non-supervisory employees who report directly to this job.
2. There are 3 to 4 employees directly supervised by this job.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.
3. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.

Qualification: Bachelor degree in Business or Economics (or other numerate subject), Professional qualification in Investments.
